Mt. Gulugod Baboy
Where it is: Anilao, Batangas
Difficulty level: 2/10
This mountain is surrounded by seas, so the view is majestic from all sides with a refreshing breeze to boot. Make the most out of your trip and book a tour that includes a visit to the famed Sombrero Island in the itinerary.
Pico de Loro
Where it is: Ternate, Cavite
Difficulty level: 4/10
Its name literally translates to “Parrot’s Peak”. It’s also the highest point in Cavite. This mountain was featured at the end of “Love You to the Stars and Back” so you and bae can channel Julia and Josh once you reach the top.
Mt. Daraitan
Where it is: Tanay, Rizal
Difficulty level: 4/10
You don’t need to go all the way up to Sagada to experience a wondrous sea of clouds because Mt. Daraitan is a mere 3 hour drive from the metro. You can also go for a dip in the Tinipak River to cool down on your descent.
Mt. Hapunang Banoi
Where it is: Rodriguez, Rizal
Difficulty level: 4/10
It may only be a 2-3 hour trek to the peak, but the trail can get tricky. In the end, it’ll all be worth it once you behold the stunning vista. Plus, according to tour guides, there’s signal at the summit so you can immediately post those awesome pics for the ‘Gram (like this one with this cute little fella)!
Tarak Ridge
Where it is: Mariveles, Bataan
Difficulty level: 5/10
This is the most challenging out of all the five mountains listed due to its rocky terrain. This mountain actually got its name from the Filipino words tabak and tarik, meaning “hunting knife” and “steep” respectively. Hike with someone who can provide you with the moral support you’ll need to conquer this peak.
