The Philippines certainly has a lot of picturesque bodies of water just waiting to be discovered. Lucky for you, we’ve found five of the most beautiful rivers you should check out today or on your next vacation.

Loboc River

Where: Carmen, Bohol

You can join a lunch or dinner cruise, swim and float around, or paddleboard lazily along this calm and refreshing river.

Panguil River Eco Park

Where: Pangil, Laguna

The river’s name is actually Bambang Hari. You can camp around it, ride a balsa along its banks, try crablet catching, and visit the Ambon-Ambon Falls too.

Puerto Princesa Underground River

Where: Puerto Princesa, Palawan

It was voted as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature and as such is a protected area. You won’t get to swim around in it, and it’s a 15- to 20-minute boat ride away from the main island but it’s definitely worth all the trouble to reach and explore.

Kanlaob River

Where: Alegria, Cebu

Also known as the Matutinao River, this one is for the adventurous. You’ll have to do some trekking, climbing, cliff diving, rappelling, and swimming as you go through canyons to get to the end of the tour and reach the majestic Kawasan Falls.

Hinatuan Enchanted River

Where: Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur

Just look at those crystal-clear turquoise waters! It’s called the Enchanted River for a reason. Besides the local lore about it being populated by mermaids, fairies, and pixies at night, part of what makes it so enchanting is its still unfathomable depth.
