Instead of binge-watching for 72 hours, grab your gals and guys for a little adventure or quick getaway this long weekend! Check out these new activities for you to enjoy within and near the city.
4. ATV Adventures Rizal
An hour and half from the metro, Tanay is home to several thrilling activities—ATV Adventures Rizal included.
Hop on an ATV for an off-road adventure navigating from steep hills and rough terrain all the way through the jungle of Sierra Madre or Marikina River. There are five tours to choose from that vary in difficulty and trip length with fees ranging from P1,500 to Php 6,500 per person.
3. Nagpatong Rock Formation
Another activity for the thrill-seekers is hiking to Nagpatong Rock Formation, which are massive blocks of limestone rocks atop each other nestled at the foot of Mount Masungki.
While the tour begins with a mild trek, it’s the vertical climb to the summit of the formation that gets tricky and challenging—definitely not for the faint-hearted!
Registration fee is Php100 per person, and the guide fee is Php 500 for a group of five people.
2. Malangaan Cave
For a light and leisurely trek, consider Malangaan Cave in San Rafael, Bulacan. It is only a 2-hour drive from the city to see the aisle of curved rock formations that lead up to a cave, where guerilla groups once seeked shelter during World War 2.
No fees to be paid, except for tips for the tour guide.
1. Lobo Cave
How about a short trip to the Caving Capital of the Philippines? Lobo Cave in Samar has plenty of treasures hidden beneath. Spelunking through the dark includes sightings of enormous, glistening stalagmite and stalactite formations, underground rivers and waterfalls, and some interesting cave organisms.
