Why is the September Issue Such a Big Deal?

By  - 8 years ago

In the world of fashion magazines, September issues make it or break it. They are considered the most important, having the fattest pages.

Ever wondered why?

September is the New Year of fashion; a month of transformation.

In western countries, it is the end of summer, the start of a new school year, and (literally) the beginning of a new season.

In contrast to July issues—which have considerably less fashion content due to designers being busy preparing for their next collection—September issues are filled to the gills with fashion. Furthermore, Fall/Winter collections are more influential than Summer/Spring collections, so these issues have the most number of advertisements.

In 2009, the popular documentary “September Issue” was released. The film by RJ Cutler followed the behind the scenes in the production of the five-pound 2007 September issue of Vogue US. It sparked interest among viewers, adding to the hype.

To sum up, September is a time to reinvent yourself, upgrade your style, and open bigger doors. So open a copy and get inspired by the best fashion has to offer.
