While we’re glad about Kendall and Gigi walking down this year’s Victoria’s Secret runway, we all know it’s not a VS Fashion Show without the veterans who made the show legendary in the first place.
Meet five of our favorite angels at the VS Fashion Show Class of 2016.
5. Josephine Skriver
After three years of walking for Victoria’s Secret, Josephine Skriver finally gained her wings this year as she was officially welcomed as an angel. One interesting thing about this super model is that she grew up in an LGBTQ family; her IT analyst mother is lesbian, while her marine biologist dad is gay.
4. Taylor Hill
Taylor Hill first walked for Victoria’s Secret in 2014, and officially became an angel the year after. She is one of the youngest VS models at 20 years old.
3. Lily Aldridge
This veteran started walking for the brand in 2009, and wore wings for the first time the next year. Although she may be one of the most iconic VS angels of all time, her dream growing up was to become a soccer player. Other than being one of the world’s highest paid models, Lily is also a wife and a mother. You might have spotted her in Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood music video, too.
2. Alessandra Ambrosio
Alessandra is a legend. She has been walking for Victoria’s Secret ever since the year 2000, and has been given the honor of wearing the fantasy bras, the lingerie brand’s highly coveted luxury underwear, twice, in 2012 and in 2014. This mother of two is also the national ambassador for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
1. Adriana Lima
Like, Alessandra, Adriana Lima has been walking for Victoria’s Secret for more than ten years now. She walked her first show in 1999, and earned her wings in 2001. She wore the fantasy bras in 2008, 2010, and 2014. She made history in 2013 by being the first visibly pregnant woman to appear on the Pirelli Calendar. When she is not modelling on the runway, Adriana actively volunteers in charity work.
