Holiday Dressing in 3 Textures

By  - 7 years ago

It’s that time of the year again; the time when we empty our wallets for friends and loved ones, when traffic tests our Christmas spirit, and when all those holiday smorgasbords mess with our #fitnessgoals. And don’t even get us started on Christmas parties. It’s a stressful season so why not look good to alleviate some of that December strain?

Almost every season, three types of fabric flood the shops and our Instagram feeds. Here are some hot tips how to wear them:

Metallics

These foil trousers are super festive. Plus, the stretchy waistband is ideal for all that overeating. The pajama top and tassel loafers complement their relaxed, loungy feel.

Be sure to balance all that sheen with matte textures throughout the rest of your outfit.

Stripe Metallic Plisse Trousers, Topshop, P2,100; Tassel Loafers, Charles & Keith, P1,045; Silky Ribbed Ankle Socks, Topshop, P220; Fantasy Clutch, Stradivarius, P895.

Velvet

Again with the adjustable waist! Ruffles and bows are the perfect companion to the girlish feel of the velvet skirt. Did we mention they’re on trend too?

Floral Velvet Wrap Skirt, Topshop, P1,500; Long-Sleeve Frilled Blouse With Bow, Zara, P2,995; Bow Mules, H&M, P3,990; Faux Leather Mini Clutch, Forever 21, P650.

Fur

Since we’re on the topic of fabric finishes, might as well load up on texture like your life depends on it.  The (faux) fur jumper is offset by stiff cotton, satin, glitter, and animal print. We’re big fans of socks with sandals, too and the “ber” months are the perfect time to rock it.

Faux Fur Sweater, Pull&Bear, P1,595; Ruffled Cotton Blouse, H&M, P899; Cropped Trousers, Zara, P2,295; Cropped Glitter Rib Ankle Sock, Topshop P215; Diana Heeled Sandals, Topshop, P1790.
