Want Glass Skin? Here’s a 5-Step Routine to Get that K-pop Worthy Complexion

By  - 7 years ago

Who wants poreless, glassy skin? Or maybe a better questions is — who in their right mind doesn’t? The Korean “glass skin” trend is going viral, and we’re switching up our routines until we can pass as for K-pop star.

Okay, fine. We don’t have the dancing or singing chops for that, but at least we can now cop complexions as good as theirs.

Here’s a 5-step breakdown on how to get glass skin!

Step 1: Double cleanse

This step is the foundation to any good skincare routine — Korean or otherwise. Remember, properly washing away a day’s worth of pollution and makeup provides the best base for maximum absorption.

To effectively take everything off, make sure to double cleanse! Go in with an oil-based cleanser to remove majority of the gunk and grime, then finish off with a cream-based one to ensure you’re squeaky clean.

Step 2: Exfoliate

You don’t want dead skin cells dulling your shine. Make sure to get rid of them by exfoliating once or twice a week with your favorite physical or chemical exfoliator!

A word of caution though — some physical exfoliators clog pipes and don’t decompose. We recommend going with a chemical exfoliator instead so you avoid creating mico-cuts in your skin and get a more even glow.

Step 3: The 7 Skin Method

The 7 Skin Method is yet another Korean skincare trend in itself. It involves layering on toner or essence 7 times to maximize product absorption and effectivity.

Just add product on a cotton pad, and swipe it on your face. While your face is still damp, apply the same amount of product on your face with your hands. Repeat this process 7 times.

Just remember to use alcohol free products, so your face doesn’t get irritated!

Step 4: Moisturize

Is anything more youthful that plump, moisturized skin?

This look is all about moisture, so be generous with this step! Go for a moisturizer that easily sinks into your skin, so you feel comfortable whether you’re out and about or headed to bed.

Step 5: Face Mask

Not only is this step like a mini spa that costs way less, but it’s a great way to end any night time skincare routine. You can never go wrong with more moisture and more essence, so grab your favorite sheet mask and log into your FOX+ account, and stream your favorite movies or TV shows.
