The restaurant that started it all, the one behind the towering soufflé-like pancakes you always see on your feed is Gram Cafe & Pancakes.
We wish it was all hype, but these pancakes live up to the highest of expectations; they’re really extra fluffy, cloudy, and wobbly. It comes in three pieces stacked together and served with syrup, butter, and whipped cream.
4. omelette
Originating from Mont Saint-Michel, La Mère Poulard’s soufflée omelette was welcomed with open arms in Japan, whose people are lover of all things fluffy. No surprise there when their unique version of the egg dish is incredibly foamy, puffy, and light as air! You can only wonder what’s behind this 130-year old recipe.
3. pancakes
If you’re in search for the fluffiest pancakes, then you might be looking for Flipper’s. They’re known for their special Kiseki pancakes, soufflé pancakes made of all-Japanese ingredients: Miyagi eggs, local wheat, and their own signature maple butter cream. These are so delicate, a slice will just melt in your mouth.
2. cheesecake
Rikuro Ojisan’s cheesecake is a cheesecake version you’ve probably never tried yet. You can easily tell these baked treats are super soft and light because they jiggle when you move them! Its ingredients include cream cheese from Denmark, milk, and butter that give it a smooth texture.
1. pancake pudding
Flipper’s created a spinoff of their famous Kiseki pancakes with Flipper’s Stand. It’s a take-out stand offering the same soufflé treat, but this time it’s filled with homemade cream and served over pudding.
