adobo magazine is in search once more for talented and creative individuals to express their ideas through design with the 10th adobo Design Awards Asia!
This year’s theme is “Think Design Think,” aiming to highlight the importance of design as a powerful tool that could resolve issues and problems affecting different aspects of our lives. Interested students and professionals can submit their work in various formats to the Open Theme Category until the deadline, April 5, 2019.
Leading the panel of judges for this year’s competition is Jury President Yang Yeo, Creative Kaiju of Hakuhodo Inc., APAC. He is a recipient of the Designer of the Year award by Dr. Tony Tan, President of the Republic of Singapore, in 2012, and Creative of the Year by Campaign Asia-Pacific magazine in 2011. His works and his agencies have also been recognized countless times.
Assisting him is a powerhouse jury composed of more of the industry’s esteemed creatives. Judges are a mix of international and local design practitioners like Rich Tu (Vice President of Design at MTV), Jayson Atienza (Artist and Creative Director), Nadya Kirillova (Creative Director of Dentsu Team B), Hidetoshi Kuranari (Creative Director of Dentsu Team B); and AJ Dimarucot (Founder of Communication Design Association of the Philippines), John Ed De Vera (Creative Director for Design at TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno), Dan Matutina (Founder of Plus63 Design Philippines).
The week-long Design Exhibit will be housed in the Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier from May 6 to May 12, while the adobo Design Awards Asia show will be on May 20, 2019. Winners will be awarded bronze, silver, and gold trophies for each category. Creatives can also attend the Design Masterclass on May 9 and the Design Conference on May 10.
