5. Mecha Uma (Bonifacio Global City)

Mecha Uma got its name from an abbreviation of a Japanese expression which means “absurdly delicious food”. It is a tiny, trendy, and hip Japanese fusion restaurant owned by Bruce Ricketts (aka Chef Brossy), the nephew of action star Ronnie Ricketts. It has recently been cited in the The Diner’s Club 50 Best Discovery Series list.

4. Van Gogh Is Bipolar (Quezon City)

For a unique dining experience, visit Van Gogh Is Bipolar —an interesting self-service cafe that serves a “mood-healing diet” which promises to make you and your date feel happy and calm. The menu is delicious yet unexpected, since the courses would depend on the mood of Chef Jetro Rafael, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

3. Blackbird at the Nielson Tower (Makati City)

Up for something fancy? Try Blackbird at the Nielson Tower. What’s interesting about this contemporary fine dining restaurant is its history. The Nielson Tower, which is Blackbird today, used to be an airport during the pre-World War II days. Another fun fact was that the first domesticated flight in Asia took place here—it was a trip from Makati to Baguio.
