6 Makeup Items You Need for that Sunkissed Glow

By  - 5 years ago

What’s a trip to the beach without a quick ‘lil photo op? In the age of the ‘gram, a sunkissed beat is just as important as the ocean itself. Luckily, beach makeup is all about looking effortlessly flawless with minimal makeup.

Here are the 6 makeup items your shouldn’t forget!

6. Eyebrows

If there’s one makeup item we won’t be caught dead without, it’s our brow products. The only problem is that after a quick dip in the pool, we end up losing all our hard work!

Luckily, we discovered Wunderbrow — a life proof brow gel that stays put no matter how much you sweat or swim.

5. Concealer

What’s a beach trip without that one glowing skin selfie? Sadly, not all of us are blessed with perfect skin, but at least we have a few concealer tricks up our sleeve!

The last thing you want is to look cakey and overdone, so for an all-over conceal, try mixing your full coverage concealer with moisturizer in lieu of a foundation. This gives sheer, skin-like coverage. All you’ll have to do afterwards is go back in on the darker spots, and you’re good to go!

PRO TIP: If you don’t have a full coverage concealer, you can easily amp up the coverage of any other concealer by letting it dry on your problem areas for a minute or two. Tap it out with your finger for an even blend!

4. Mascara

The secret to looking fun and flirty with as little effort as possible? Mascara! You probably already have this in your kit, but waterproof mascara is definitely a must in any person’s makeup kit!

Make sure to go with a mascara with a formula that’s proven to stay in place.

3. Lips

It’s time to ditch the cream and liquid lipsticks, because not only will they be uncomfortable, they’ll definitely look off. Remember we’re going for au naturel, so bring long wearing lip tints that can double as sunkissed blush. A pink or coral moment would be perfect for this!

2. Contour

Leave the powder contour at home, because at the beach we want something that looks effortless. Go with a creamy contour stick to bronze you up and give you a little more definition. Tap it out with your fingers to get the most out of your products!

1. Highlight

Cream and liquid highlighters don’t always layer well with foundation and concealer, so they’re perfect to whip out when you’re wearing less. For a lit-from-within glow, take a highlighter thats close to your skin tone, and use it sparingly on the top of your cheekbones and nose.

If you’re extra, you can also apply some on your shoulders and collarbones.
