After a year of reign as Miss Universe, our very own Pia Wurtzbach passed on her iconic bedazzled blue crown to France’s Iris Mittenaere earlier today, January 30, 2017.
But there’s no stopping this bright-eyed 27-year-old from ruling the world.
“42 years of drought and now it finally reigns.” A year ago, I was blessed with this title. I know that most of you feel like the year has gone by so quickly but it’s actually the opposite for me. My year as Miss Universe felt longer than that. Without sounding too corny but I think it’s because so much happened. It’s filled with memories for a lifetime. The best ones are the life lessons I learned the hard way. 😅 But even when things gets tough it’s really your love that keeps me pushing forward. Maganda nakikita nyo pero kung alam nyo lang, mas maganda po ang nakikita ko. 😊🤗 Maraming salamat po! 🙏 Confidently beautiful with aaa..
Pia will be returning to New York City to fulfill her role as ambassador of the Miss Universe Organization. She is also considering taking up a degree at the New York Film Academy, where she was granted a scholarship.
During the 65th Miss Universe pageant held at the Mall of Asia Arena this morning, she also revealed to host, Steve Harvey that she recently signed up with International Management Group (IMG), a New York-based talent management company whose popular talents include Miranda Kerr and Gigi Hadid.
Another exciting project Pia is going to take part in is the hit reality television series, Asia’s Next Top Model, where she will be joining host, Cindy Sirinya; photographer-director, Yu Tsai; and supermodel mentor, Cara McIlroy in the panel. Make sure to catch AsNTM Season 5 on Star World.
Pia Wurtzbach is one of the most well-loved Miss Universe titleholders of all time. Her reign may have ended, but there’s still so much more in store for this confidently beautiful woman.
